Day 6: Trolls!
Danish artist Thomas Dambo has brought magic to forests and parks around the world with his whimsical, giant wooden trolls. Crafted from recycled materials, these sculptures are full of charm, character, and a sense of adventure. You truly have to see them to believe them. Check out his WEBSITE to learn more about his work. There’s even a TROLL MAP where you can see if one is hiding near you!
My friend Laura recently told me about these trolls, and I was instantly intrigued. So on my day off, we set out to find two of them nestled in Ninigret Park, Rhode Island. It felt like a real-life treasure hunt, and we were not disappointed. Along the trails to the trolls, there were hints that we were on the right track from painted footprints to hanging shells and driftwood. We found Erik Rock and Greta Granite. Community projects like this are so inspiring to me. There were a lot of people there hunting trolls!
