The Cottage at Wilcox Park
The cottage I'm staying in for the residency has been newly renovated, and I wanted to take a quick moment to share some photos.
The first row shows the upstairs, which includes a studio and a bedroom. The second row is the ground level, featuring the kitchen, living room, and a large open space. That open space is used for small events, and it's where I'll be hosting my open studios on the 26th. There is also a basement with laundry and storage. Look at the antique door with a mail slot marked “letters”. There is also a doorbell above the letter slot that you spin, and it sounds like a 1980s bicycle bell. Love!
The Westerly Library has a beautiful stained glass window with a tree on it and…. a card catalog! They don’t use it, but have it on display. That brings back memories of searching through hand-typed cards for the book I needed. And yes, I did this in college.
One last funny thing if you are still reading. The library staff love their cats!
